The best virtual and cloud environments for backup and replication is Veeam.
What do you like best about the product?
What aspect of Veeam Data Platform appeals to you the most?
What captured our attention is the convenience of use of Veeam’s flexibility. It is compatible with almost any hardware so there are no limitations. The simplicity of the product setup and operation is outstanding. The fact that the premium platform's DR orchestration feature can be enabled was also especially noteworthy.

What do you dislike about the product?
We have not tried it long enough to say we don’t like anything because we’ve just bought it. Possibly the immutable backup needs the third-party device. But, you can escape this issue by creating your own Linux repository.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
The need for VMware Site Recovery Manager is being replaced. With the built-in DR orchestration, we do not need to procure licenses for this any longer. What’s more, this issue we had with earlier immutable backups was also resolved.

Nothing. Far better than all competitve products

What I like best about Veeam Data Platform is its comprehensive and versatile approach to data protection, which seamlessly integrates with a wide range of environments including virtual, physical, and cloud infrastructures. Its user-friendly interface and automated processes simplify complex backup and recovery tasks, making it accessible even for users with limited technical expertise. Veeam's advanced features, such as Instant VM Recovery and ransomware protection, ensure rapid and secure data restoration, minimizing downtime and enhancing security. Additionally, its robust monitoring, detailed reporting, and responsive customer support provide a reliable and efficient solution for managing and safeguarding critical data, all while offering flexible licensing options to suit various business needs and budgets.

Protects us from data loss.

While basic functions are straightforward, mastering some of the more advanced features can require significant time and effort. This learning curve might be a hurdle for less experienced IT staff.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Data loss due to hardware failure, human error, cyberattacks, or natural disasters can cripple an organization but, Veeam provides reliable and frequent backups, ensuring that data can be restored quickly in case of loss. This minimizes downtime and protects against data loss.

Amazing Backup Solution
What do you like best about the product?
Veeam is easy to use and setup, support is top-tier, and the backups "just work." The scale-out and scale-up options are great for growth, and Veeam really fits any business backup need with plugins for most cloud services.
What do you dislike about the product?
It's a bit OP for my specific needs, but I'm glad those features exist. Somethimes it can be confusing to know what components I need or don't need, and how all the pieces fit together (confusing because I'm not using them, not because it's inherently confusion).
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
Veeam backups up everything to local and cloud storage, and has features to follow the 3-2-1 rule of backups with minimal administrative effort. REstoration of lost/damaged files is a breeze.
Veeam always provides a great and consistent experience!

I love how it backs up everything I throw at it!
What do you dislike about the product?
While it can backup physical Solaris boxes, I think the experience could use a little help.

It is solving our backup and disaster recovery options by providing us multiple options for recovery and the flexibility of putting them where we need them most.

I'm quite new to this backup game, but Veeam just blows the competition out of the waters.

We could restore an entire VM of 1.5TB to ESXi in about 15 minutes from a local drive to local. We benchmarked against other backup software but nothing is as close to this speed.
We run hourly backups and the ease of intergrating them into multiple vCenters is just excellent.
Maybe the next step is to actually get a higher tier subscription for malware scannning.
Try the community edition for yourself and experience it.

If you're new to the platform.
Navigating isn't the easiest. Config is feature packed. Security is so tight you would love to hate it.
But better secure than insecure.
One small drawback might be the backup size that Veeam creates. They are so massive that you might have to upgrade your datastore just to accomodate the backups.
I had to call Veeam support a few times just to get my head around where is everything and how to configure everything.

Backup and restore and replicating important servers, host and files at the speed that is needed in a fast paced environment.

What do you like best about the product?
Veeam is our backup software par excellence that we recommend and use with our customers, the integration with veeam one is great and for us it is easy to carry an implementation to be used easily, for us the frequency of use is daily since we have from vms to SAP and so far the support has been helpful in all its functions.
What do you dislike about the product?
L1 support are not very accurate, they need to get better at it.
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
restore virtual machines that have been deleted by the customer.

It's bloated a bit too much in and starting to look like other players in the field
What problems is the product solving and how is that benefiting you?
All of our data has been with Veeam for 10+ years. Our company has the confidence and understanding of what we are using and how to access/replicate or recover data as needed.
