     Info

    Overview

Trac is a web-based project management and bug tracking system. Trac integrates with major version control systems "out of the box" including Subversion and Git.

Trac provides hyperlinking information between a computer bug database, revision control and wiki content. It also serves as a web interface to the revision control systems Subversion, Git, Mercurial, Bazaar, Perforce and Darcs.

Trac offers a built-in wiki system which can be used for knowledge and information organization in a very flexible way by creating pages containing an intuitive and easy to learn textual markup. The wiki markup is used throughout Trac, so not only in wiki pages, but also in ticket description and comments, version control log messages, milestone descriptions, report descriptions and even in third-party extensions. It allows for formatted text and hyperlinks in and between all Trac modules.

Trac provides a wide variety of plugins which offer many optional features and integration with external tools, and keep the core system simple and easy to use. Besides the core SVN and Git support, Trac can connect via plugins to many other version control systems, including:

Bazaar CVS Darcs Mercurial Monotone Perforce

    Highlights

    • Trac allows wiki markup in issue descriptions and commit messages, creating links and seamless references between bugs, tasks, changesets, files and wiki pages.
    • A timeline shows all current and past project events in order, making the acquisition of an overview of the project and tracking progress very easy.
    • The roadmap shows the road ahead, listing the upcoming milestones.
